Dan Cripe Photography is available to
photograph events for organizations in the Missoula (and surrounding)
area. I have experience photographing theater, concerts, and
athletic events (indoor and outdoor). I've created special
pricing specifically for non-commercial engagements as described below:
Pricing
| Component |
Price |
Includes |
| Base
Assignment Fee |
$150 |
- Pre-production (creative discussions,
logistics, limited location scouting, local travel)
- Creative fees
- 2 hours of on-site photography
- Post-production (photo processing and editing,
web page creation, CD creation, etc.)
- License (see below)
|
| Hourly
Rate |
$50 |
Creative
fee for each hour (or portion thereof) above and beyond the hours
included in the assignment fee |
Pricing Background: Photographers
will typically charge "a la carte" for pre-production, travel, creative
fees, and post-production. On top of this, most photographers
will charge a fee for a limited license for each photographed
used. This can become very expensive very quickly.
I've taken a different approach to pricing
local events so as to make it more affordable for the Missoula
market. I bundle all of the fees into one low hourly rate and I
include an indefinite unlimited use (see notes below) license for ALL
photos in the fee, making event photography both simple and affordable.
License: Customer will receive
a non-expiring license for unlimited use of all images for internal
and/or publicity use only (organization web sites, promotional
materials, etc.). Images cannot be resold or assigned to third
parties for use. Dan Cripe Photography reserves the right to
market and sell the photos to event participants and families of
participants.
Note: Non-local events, events
requiring larger than average pre- or post-production efforts, or
events with other exceptional characteristics will be priced on a
case-by-case basis.

Dan Cripe Photography has limited available
for traditional commercial and editorial photographic assignments.
For advertising and corporate assignments,
my daily creative fee typically runs $1000-$3000 depending on the
nature of the usage and the assignment. For editorial work, my
daily creative fee typically runs $500-$1000. Licensing terms,
travel, pre- and post-production work, and other exceptional factors
will affect the pricing.

I follow the guidelines in Heron and
MacTavish's "Pricing Photography" (third edition) and adjust for the
local market when pricing my stock photography. The variations
and permutations are too numerous to list here, so please provide me
with the following information:
-
Your publication or affiliation
-
Intended usage (including size of the
audience or print run)
-
Desired licensing terms (per-use or
unlimited use)
and I'll get back to you shortly with a
quote (or additional questions).
